This Morning I was reading in Alma 5, a very popular chapter in
the Book of Mormon about reflection. There had been a talk in Sacrament meeting
about it as well this week so I wanted to look at it a little bit more. One of
my favorite verses is Alma 5:14;
14 And now
behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have
ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in
your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your
hearts?
One part that I really like and I ponder every now and then is the
second question, Have ye received his image in your countenances? It has great
meaning and symbolism. It really makes you think of how to become more like
Christ, to think what is it that you could do each day, every minute, to be
like Him. Now that is the whole point of the Gospel, to become like Him but
this question is worded in such a way that it makes it personal, it makes it
warm and inspiring.
