This past
week I have been studying Conference talks from last October in preparation for
this coming conference. One of the talks that I read was The Souls Sincere
Desire by Carol F. McConkie. This was a great talk that really made me think.
She used a passage of scripture at the beginning of her talk that was really
quite reflective.
Lucas 18: 7-8
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto
him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them
speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the
earth?
What do we
have to do so that God can avenge us? What condition do we need to be in to
receive the blessings of God? According to the scripture we must cry day and
night. Now it is impossible to always be praying every moment of everyday but
we can have our thoughts always turned to the Savior and plead that things will
work out for our good. It requires a lot of faith to cry day and night. And
that is our faith. Will the Son of Man find faith in us when he comes? Or when
it is necessary? It's a great question to ponder and think about our own
individual lives and what is the next step for us so that He will find faith
when He comes.
